Copywriting brief

Fill out the briefing form on this page to get your copy off to the right start.

Chris Alden, freelance copywriterAs any copywriter will tell you, great content depends on a great brief.

To write copy that delivers, I’ll need a thorough understanding of your goals, your audience and your messaging – alongside other info that’s specific to your project.

But writing briefs can be tricky. So to make life simpler, I’ve added a briefing form to this page.

By all means fill out the form below. Or if this is more info than you’d like to provide at this stage, use my simple contact form. It’s up to you.

Briefing form

  • First, basic info about you

  • Next, some basic info about the project

  • Ideally, please provide a preferred date for both the first draft and the final draft.
  • e.g. web pages or a PDF report. If you need content in multiple formats, please say!
  • Please tell me about your audience

  • This helps me write content that puts the needs of the audience first.
  • Please outline your messaging

  • Tip: focus on benefits to your audience, not facts about your business or product.
  • Supporting materials

  • I'll contact you to ask for further info.
  • Other info

  • For example, I can craft tweets that can help promote a research report.
