Wondering what to include?
Ideally, you’ll be able to send me either a brief or summary which includes the following details:
- The work you need
- The sector, industry, or brand
- Wordcount, if it’s a writing job (though I can advise on this)
- Deadlines or timetables
- Above all: the real problem you’re trying to solve.
Of course, I understand if you need to withhold some info at this early stage.
If you want to send me a document for editing, it’s usually best if I see the whole thing so I can quote for the job. If you want to check rough prices and availability before sending me anything that contains confidential or private info, that is fine by me.

How I respond when you contact me
I typically quote a “rate for the job” when you contact me about a project, rather than an hourly or daily rate. So I may come back to you with questions at first.
I’m usually happy to join a call to discuss any points before we get started. Before we start, I’ll also send you a copy of my terms, which are written in plain English.
Ultimately, I aim to make sure everything’s clear from the start, so the project goes as smoothly as it can.
